A method for producing a codebook a method and device for data transmission are provided in the embodiments of the present invention. The data transmission method includes the following steps: a label of the codeword in the 8 antennas codebook is received wherein the label is transmitted by a User Equipment; the codeword identified by the label is searched in the 8 antennas codebook; the data to be transmitted is coded by using the codeword the coded data is transmitted; the 8 antennas codebook at least includes the codeword of 8 antennas whose rank is 8 the codeword of 8 antennas whose rank is 8 is obtained by multiplying the inverse matrix of rotation matrix of 8 antennas and 8-dimensional matrix formed by the codeword of 4 antennas whose rank is 4; or the codeword of 8 antennas whose rank is 8 is obtained by spreading the codeword of 8 antennas whose rank is 4 the codeword of 8 antennas whose rank is 4 is obtained according to the codeword of 4 antennas. By applying the embodiments of the invention the codeword in 8 antennas codebook applies to a various of scenes like dual polarization strong correlation dual polarization low correlation single polarization strong correlation and single polarization low correlation etc.
