Abstract  Abstract

Generally, techniques for performing motion vector prediction for video coding are described. A video coding device, including a processor, may perform the techniques. The processor performs a motion vector prediction process and scales the one or more of the plurality of candidate motion vectors determined for the current block of video data to generate a motion vector of a current block of video data to generate one or more scaled candidate motion vectors May be configured to determine a plurality of candidate motion vectors. The processor may then be configured to change the scaled candidate motion vectors to be within a horizontal specified range.
