Abstract  Abstract

Embodiments of the present invention relate to a method in a user equipment (10) for transmitting uplink control information to a radio base station in time slots in a subframe on a radio channel. . The radio channel is arranged to carry uplink control information, and the user equipment as well as the radio base station are included in a radio communication network. The uplink control information is included in a block of bits. The user equipment maps the block of bits to a sequence of complex value modulation symbols. The user equipment also blocks the complex value modulation symbol sequence on discrete Fourier transform - Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (DFTS - OFDM) spread symbols. This is done by applying a spreading sequence to the complex value modulation symbol sequence to obtain a complex value modulation symbol block spreading sequence. The user equipment further transforms the complex symbol modulation block spreading sequence by DFTS-OFDM symbol. This is done by applying to the complex value modulation symbol block spread sequence a matrix which depends on a DFTS - OFDM symbol index and / or a slice index. The user equipment also transmits on the radio channel to the radio base station the block spread sequence of complex value modulation symbols which has been transformed.
