Abstract
A method for establishing an improved security context between a remote station and a service network is disclosed. In this method, the remote station sends to the serving network the first message, and the first message includes an information element indicating that the remote station supports an improved security context. The remote station generates at least one session key according to the enhanced security context using this information element. In response to the first message, the remote station receives a second message indicating that the serving network supports an improved security context. The remote station, in response to the second message, communicates with at least one session key.
