Abstract  Abstract

The spreading codes to be assigned to data to be transmitted are changed between a transmission time and the next one (retransmission time). For example, at a transmission of the first packet (first transmission), symbols “1”-“4” are spread with a spreading code #0, while at a transmission of the second packet (retransmission), the symbols “1”-“4” are spread with a spreading code #1. As a result, combining despread signals of the symbols received by the receiving apparatus a plurality of times can eliminate received symbols having extremely low reception levels, so that reception quality can be improved.
