Abstract  Abstract

Provided in the embodiments of the present application are a method, device and system for transmitting a status report so as to at least solve the problem in 5G of a radio link control (RLC) service data unit (SDU) segment being repeatedly transmitted due to a misunderstanding of a transmitting end device caused by an RLC status report transmitting mode which is employed in LTE. The method comprises: a receiving end device receives an RLC protocol data unit (PDU) of which a sequence number (SN) is x, wherein the RLC PDU comprises an RLC SDU segment, and x is the SN of the RLC PDU having the largest SN among the RLC PDUs received in a current receiving window of the receiving end device; when a first timer expires and the receiving end device does not completely receive the RLC SDU, the receiving end device transmits N status PDUs to a transmitting end device, wherein the first timer is a timer that needs to be started when the receiving end device has an RLC SDU that is not completely received, and the N status PDUs comprise the reception statuses of all RLC SDUs having an SN that is less than x, N being a positive integer greater than or equal to 1.
