Abstract  Abstract

A coding concept that is based on linear prediction, and that uses spectral domain noise shaping, becomes less complex, with comparable coding efficiency in terms of, for example, the rate / distortion ratio, using decomposition spectral of the audio input signal, in a spectrogram comprising a sequence of spectra, both for the computation of linear prediction coefficients and for the conformation of the spectral domain, based on the linear prediction coefficients. The coding efficiency can remain even if such an overlapping transform is used for spectral decomposition, which causes aliasing and needs the cancellation of time aliasing, for example, critically sampled overlapping transforms such as an MDCT.
