Abstract  Abstract

The invention relates to a method and device for communicating transmission backlog information. An uplink dedicated control channel reporting structure comprising a reporting wireless terminals for uplink traffic request group queue backlog information reports of different bit sizes such as 1 bit 3 bit and 4 bit report. report the report of a smaller bit size is large is transmitted more frequently. 1 bit request report indicates whether there is any MAC frame information to be communicated in a set of two request group queues. 3 bit request report indicates that a corresponding amount of information the first group request group queues and a second set of request group queues. 4 bit request report indicates a group backlog information corresponding to an amount of request group queues. the 4 bit request report is capable of reporting a plurality of uplink traffic channel request group queues maintained by the wireless terminal of any one piece of information.
