Abstract  Abstract

The uplink dedicated control channel reporting structure includes a plurality of different bit size reports, such as, for example, 1 bit, 3 bit and 4 bit reports, reporting wireless terminal backlog information of the uplink traffic request group queues. do. Smaller size reports are sent more frequently than larger reports. The 1 bit request report indicates whether there are any MAC frames of information to be sent in the set of two request group queues. The three bit request report indicates the amount of backlog information corresponding to the first set of request group queues and the second set of request group queues. The 4-bit request report indicates the amount of backlog information corresponding to the set of request group queues. The 4-bit request report may report information on any of the plurality of uplink traffic channel request group queues maintained by the wireless terminal.
