Abstract  Abstract

The invention claims a method and device for random access in orthogonal multiple access communication system of which relates to a method for accessing a wireless communication system are described. user equipment (UE) sends a random access preamble code for system access. The random access preamble may include a random identifier (ID) a channel quality indicator (CQI) and the like. UE may randomly select the random ID or may be assigned the random ID. receiving a random access response from the base station by the UE. the random access response may include control channel resources for the UE (e.g. CQI and PC resources) uplink resources and/or control information (e.g. timing advance and PC correction). it can use two message transmitting the random access response in the two parts. the first message may be sent on a control channel and may include other information for identification information and possible. the second message may be sent on a shared data channel and may include remaining random access information of the response.
