Abstract  Abstract

596472 An apparatus and a method for wireless communication are disclosed. The apparatus comprises at least one processor configured to: send a random access preamble for system access by a user equipment (UE) and receive a random access response from a base station and a memory coupled to the at least one processor. The random access preamble comprises identification information the random access response being asynchronous and having a variable delay with respect to the random access preamble and the random access response addresses the random access preamble based on the identification information. The at least one processor is configured to receive the random access response within a predetermined time window from when the random access preamble was sent. An apparatus and a method for wireless communication are disclosed. The apparatus comprises at least one processor configured to receive a random access preamble sent by a user equipment (UE) for system access and send a random access response to the UE and a memory coupled to the at least one processor. The at least one processor is configured to receive from the random access preamble a random identifier (ID) used as the identification information to determine a temporary ID based on the random ID and to send the random access response comprising the temporary ID.
