Abstract  Abstract

In one example an apparatus includes a video decoder said video decoder to determine an entropy decoding the binary context and using the determined context to decode the binary as a function of binary index indicating video data of a block of the last effective coefficient value of the configuration. the video encoder uses context adaptive binary arithmetic decoding CABAC encoding or decoding the binary. The function may also be dependent on the size of the block. In this way indicating the context index for context of the meter does not need to be stored by the device.

In one example a device includes a video coder configured to determine a context for entropy coding a bin of a value indicative of a last significant coefficient of a block of video data using a function of an index of the bin and code the bin using the determined context. The video coder may encode or decode the bin using context-adaptive binary arithmetic coding (CABAC). The function may also depend on a size of the block. In this manner a table indicating context indexes for the contexts need not be stored by the device.
