Abstract  Abstract

The invention claims a method and device in a mobile communication system (10) providing two or more types of bearer service (14 16) of a specified wireless network control. the mobile terminal (20) mobile network (12) broadcast control message commands a certain determining pauses in using their wireless network control decisions based on normal terminal and receives the wireless network control command from the land mobile network (12). a subsequent control message can command recovery using the wireless network control terminal normally-based decision. Thus the mobile network (12) can essentially all mobile terminals (18 20) which is served by using the same control logic regardless of the transmission bearer type of service. As a result radio signal interference between transmitting different bearer service (14 18) of mobile terminal (20 16) can be reduced.

A method and apparatus are provided for assigning radio network control in a mobile communications system (10) that offers two or more types of bearer services (14 16). The mobile network (12) broadcasts an initial control message that orders certain mobile terminals (20) to suspend use of their normal terminal-based radio network control decisions and to accept radio network control orders from the land mobile network (12). A subsequent control message can order the resumed use of normal terminal-based radio network control decisions. Consequently the mobile network (12) can use virtually the same control logic for all of the mobile terminals (18 20) that it serves regardless of the type bearer service (14 16) being carried. As a result radio signal interference between mobile terminals (18 20) carrying the different bearer services (14 16) can be minimized.
