Abstract  Abstract

A retransmission method based on an automatic retransmission request in a communication system in which data packets containing modulation symbols are retransmitted based on an automatic retransmission request and subsequently combined with previously received data packets, wherein the symbols of said data packets are modulated using a display unit, using a predefined set of signals. The retransmitted data packets are retransmitted in the form of a redundancy version selected from a variety of different redundancy versions. According to the invention, the bits to be transmitted are reordered prior to modulation in all retransmissions according to the selected redundancy version. The international application was published together with the international search report.
