Abstract  Abstract

A user equipment, UE, for use in a code division division multiple access communication system, the user equipment comprising: means for convolutionally encoding in relation 1/2 a 16-bit user equipment identification, UE ID , for the type of modulation for a high-speed downlink shared physical channel, HS-PDSCH, to produce a 40-bit UE-specific randomization sequence, used by the user equipment to decrypt part 1 of a control channel high-speed sharing, HS-SCCH, which includes the set of channeling code and information and where the means for convolutionally encoding in relation 1/2 the UE ID are configured to convolutionally encoding in relation 1/2 the UE ID and 8 zero bits appended to the UE ID and further configured to punch 8 bits of convolutionally coded bits of ratio 1/2 to produce the specific randomization sequence d e 40-bit UE used by the user equipment to decrypt the HS-SCCH.
