Abstract  Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the problem wherein it is preferable to properly separate scramble codes generated for UE IDs in order to reduce detection error occurrence.

SOLUTION: A code is produced for use in scrambling or descrambling data associated with a high-speed shared control channel (HS-SCCH) for a particular user equipment. User identification of the particular user equipment has L bits. A 1/2 rate convolutional encoder (14) processes at least the bits of the user identification by a 1/2 rate convolutional code and the code is generated.
