Abstract  Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a wireless network controller to send decoded data blocks from a node B to a higher protocol layer in a right order during a macro diversity operation of enhanced uplink soft handover.

SOLUTION: A radio communication system 100 includes at least two enhanced uplink soft handover nodes B 110A 110N and a radio network controller (RNC) 105. The radio network controller 105 includes a permutation function entity 115 and a higher protocol layer 125. Each of the nodes B 110A 110N decodes a received data block and transfers the decoded data blocks to the RNC 105. When at least one copy of the normally decoded data blocks is received the RNC uses the permutation function entity 115 to send the decoded data blocks to the higher protocol layer 125 in a right order.
