Abstract  Abstract

Upon receipt of the triggering message from the MTC server (20), the network (10) compares the MTC device ID and MTC server ID (optionally information about the subscriber) included in the triggering message with the approved ID. To verify that the MTC server 20 is authorized to trigger on the target MTC device 30 and verify that the MTC device 30 is authorized to respond to the triggering message. When the verification is successful, the network (10) checks the trigger type included in the triggering message to verify whether the triggering message is approved for transmission to the MTC device (30). When the check is successful, the network (10) transfers the triggering message to the MTC device (30). The network (10) validates the response from the MTC device (30) by checking whether the MTC device (30) is allowed to communicate with the destination MTC server (20). . (Selection) Figure 1
