Abstract  Abstract

Embodiments of signaling methods for proximity services and device-to-device (D2D) discovery in user equipment (UE), evolved Node B (eNB), and LTE networks are generally described herein. In some embodiments, the UE receives configuration information regarding the D2D discovery resource pool of the cell. The configuration information includes an indication that the D2D discovery resource pool is logically divided into a plurality of sub-discovery resource pools. The UE performs the first transmission of the discovery signal within the discovery period using one D2D discovery resource from the first sub-discovery resource pool among the plurality of sub-discovery resource pools. The UE performs multiple additional transmissions of discovery signals within the discovery period using additional D2D discovery resources from sub-discovery resource pools other than the first sub-discovery resource pool among the plurality of sub-discovery resource pools To do. Other devices and methods are also described.
