Abstract  Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve reliability of a message on channel quality indicator (CQI) of a radio communication network.

SOLUTION: A method for improving the reliability on a message of channel quality indicator (CQI) (102 106 in Fig. 3) within the radio communication network starts with reception of the message of CQI. Then the CQI message is decoded and determination metric values are calculated as to respective symbols in the CQI message. The largest determination metric value and the second largest determination metric value for the CQI message are found. The largest and the second largest determination metric values are compared to determine the reliability on the message of the CQI. This method is applicable to high-speed downlink packet access in time-division duplexing frequency-division duplexing or other transmission modes.
