Abstract  Abstract

In a radio communication system, when a CAZAC sequence is transmitted as a pilot signal sequence and code division multiplexing is used for at least one of the user multiplexing methods, a system band, which is a frequency band usable in the system, is a frequency block with bandwidths W1 and W2. Using pilot signal sequences having sequence lengths L1 and L2 that are divided into B1 and B2 and corresponding to frequency blocks B1 and B2, respectively, each pilot signal of frequency blocks B1 and B2 is generated by a single carrier. A pilot signal is transmitted as a pilot signal corresponding to each user by multicarrier transmission using an arbitrary number of frequency blocks among a plurality of frequency blocks.
