Abstract  Abstract

PURPOSE: A method and apparatus for enhanced uplink multiplexing are provided to transmit display of power limit condition to a node-B using EU transmission. CONSTITUTION: A WTRU(Wireless Transmit/Receive Unit)(100) performing EU(Enhanced Uplink) multiplex comprises a RLC(Radio Link Control) layer(102), a MAC-d(Dedicated Channel Medium Access Control Entity)(104), a MAC-e(Enhanced Uplink) MAC, entity(106,) and a PHY entity(108). The radio link control layer, the MAC-d entity, and the PHY(Physical layer) entity perform a function similar to the WTRU of an existing wireless telecommunication system. The radio link control layer includes one or more RLC entities The MAC-e entity has multiplexing function(106a) and an EU TFC(Transport Format Combination) optional function(106b). The PHY entity performs wireless transmission by processing a MAC-e PDU(Protocol Data Unit). (Reference numerals) (102) RLC layer; (104) Multiplexing and routing function of dedicated logic channels using MAC-d flow; (106a) Multiplexing function of MAC-d flows using MAC-e PDU/TTI; (106b) EU TFC selection function; (108) Physical layer; (AA) Dedicated logic channels; (BB) MAC-d flow
