Abstract  Abstract

FIELD: physics; communication. ^ SUBSTANCE: method and device are meant for generating and using a reference location signal which enables a receiver to receive location signals from generators of relatively weak signals when there is a strong signal source. Reference location signals from several sources can be synchronised such that they are transmitted within the limits of a planned slot during which a signal source can configure transmission which includes a medium access control address which corresponds a value reserved for location signals. Each signal source also configures transmission such that it includes a reference location signal which corresponds to the signal source and lies in such a way that it arises on time within part of the data of the planned slot which has several sub-slots where each signal source transmits a location signal to a sub-slot and not to other sub-slots. ^ EFFECT: location of a mobile device with high efficiency in several states including a near-far state. ^ 35 cl 7 dwg
