Abstract  Abstract

FIELD: radio engineering communication.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to wireless communication and can be used in cellular telephone networks. An apparatus for facilitating intersystem handover on a mobile station comprises a means of determining relative timing between a base station of a first wireless communication system and a base station of a second wireless communication system a means of transmitting a message to the base station of the first wireless communication system wherein the message includes timing information concerning the base station of the second wireless communication system and a means of performing handover wherein handover comprises switching from the base station of the first wireless communication system to the base station of the second wireless communication system based on the received handover message wherein the handover message is based on said timing information.EFFECT: facilitating handover between base stations of a first and a second type respectively without interrupting communication.13 cl 26 dwg 3 tbl
