Abstract  Abstract

Invention Patent: METHOD AND EQUIPMENT TO PERFORM MOBILE HARD TRANSFER ASSISTED AMONG COMMUNICATION SYSTEM. a method and equipment is described to carry out hard transfer between different communication systems (S1, S2), or hard transfer between different frequencies within the same CDMA communication system. The purpose of the present invention is to reduce the likelihood of dropouts during hard transfer between systems. If a hard pass attempt is unsuccessful, the mobile station (18) will return to the original system (S1) with the information that the communication system of the present invention uses to assist the performance of future hard pass attempts. Alternatively, without making an attempt to pass through hard, the mobile station (18) monitors the destination system (S2), then returning to the original system (S1) with information used to assist with subsequent forwarding attempts. The information that returns from monitoring a CDMA seismic consists of the results of a search for one or more pilots given displacement (offsets) in a specific listing provided to the mobile station (18) by the base station (B1) to B5) or a set of offsets based on a predetermined search algorithm.
