Abstract  Abstract

The invention claims a method for providing channel assignment information of the method for supporting an upper link (UL) channel and a downlink (DL) channel and a wireless communication system. This system includes at least one Node-B and at least one wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) is through a shared control channel an upper link (UL) channel and a lower downlink (DL) channel and communication with the B node. through shared control channel and receives a message from the node B by the wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). the message comprises the message preparing assigning radio resource to an indicating the UL channel or the DL channel the WTRU determines whether the message is for the WTRU and preparing if so the WTRU determines whether the message is for assigning radio resources to the UL channel or the DL channel. the WTRU based on whether the message is for assigning radio resources to the UL channel or the DL channel to take a proper action.
