The invention claims a method of providing for supporting an uplink (UL) channel and a downlink (DL) channel allocation information of the method and a wireless communication system; this system comprises at least a node and at least one wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). a wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU) via a common control channel an uplink (UL) channel and a downlink (DL) channel and communication with the B node. and receiving a message from the node B via the public control channel wireless transmit/receive unit (WTRU). the message comprises the message is to prepare to the UL channel or the DL channel allocation radio resource indication. The WTRU determines whether the message is prepared for the WTRU and if so the WTRU determines that the message is for further is a DL channel to allocate radio resources to the UL channel. the WTRU is for further is allocates radio resources to the DL channel to take a proper action to UL channel based on the message.
