A method for using channel control information associated with enhanced uplink transmission, EU, implemented by a wireless transmission / reception unit, WTRU, the method comprising: receiving information through radio resource control signaling, RRC; receive control information at least for transmission of the EU in at least a time interval, where the control information is at least of a first type or a second type and where the control information of the first type and the control information of the second type they are received through the same downlink channel and where the control information is masked with a specific code sequence of the forty-bit WTRU; determine whether control information is destined to the WTRU based on at least the forty-bit WTRU specific code sequence and the information received through RRC signaling; determine that the control information is of the first type or of the second type based on the specific code sequence of the forty-bit WTRU and the information received through RRC signaling; and use the control information of the first type and the second type at least for EU transmission in a condition that the control information is intended for the WTRU.
