Abstract  Abstract

The invention relates to a method and device for implementing and/or using dedicated control channel. the wireless terminal and the base station supports a plurality of dedicated control channel mode of operation wherein the wireless terminal is allocated different dedicated uplink resources for reporting control information. wireless terminal using the set of dedicated control channel segments the uplink control information reports to its serving base station attachment point. Full tone and split tone dedicated control channel mode of operation is supported. in the full tone mode each dedicated control channel segments associated with a single logical tone allocation in to a single wireless terminal. In split tone mode between different wireless terminal is allocated dedicated control channel segments associated with a single logical tone wherein each of a plurality of wireless terminals to receive a different non-overlapping subset of the dedicated control channel segments. can be used for full tone mode use or split tone mode use and dynamically allocating logical dedicated control channel tone.
