A method for determining the time associated with a satellite positioning system, said method comprises the steps implemented in the machine of: Estimate the plurality of values associated with at least one of the relative ranges and a relative position between an entity (100, 853) and a set of satellites, wherein each of said plurality of values is associated with a respective measurement time, where each measurement time and said time associated with said satellite position differ by a first imbalance, characterized by: determining a first set of error statistics values using each measurement time associated with one of said plurality of values; alter each measurement time by a second imbalance; determining a second set of error statistics values using said altered measurement time; and based on said second set of error statistics values, determine said first imbalance.
