Abstract  Abstract

(57) (Summary) The present invention provides an apparatus and method for shared channel message communication in a code division multiple access communication system. In a base station of the shared channel message communication apparatus, a control message generator includes A control message including information indicating a spreading code for spreading the channel message is generated, and the forward shared channel transmitter transmits the control message on the forward shared channel. At the mobile station, a control message analyzer analyzes information representing an assigned spreading code included in the control message received on the forward shared channel, and a spreading code generator generates a spreading code based on the spreading code information. Then, a channel transmitter spreads the reverse shared channel message with the spreading code and transmits the message.
