Abstract  Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device and a method in which a common channel can be accessed by adjusting a user class for transmitting user data of various formats during data communications in a communication system.

SOLUTION: In a base station of a common channel message communication device a control message generator generates a control message including information representing a spreading code for spreading a reverse common channel message and a forward common channel transmitter transmits the control message onto a forward common channel. In a mobile station a control message analyzer analyzes the information representing the assigned spreading code included in the control message received on the forward common channel a spreading code generator generates a spreading code based on the spreading code information and a channel transmitter then spreads the reverse common channel message with the spreading code and transmits the message.
