Abstract  Abstract

PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for designating a spreading code of a reverse common channel message in a CDMA(Code Division Multiple Access) communication system are provided to reduce the transmission delay of a common channel and increase transmission efficiency for supporting a data service. CONSTITUTION: A control message generator(612) generates a control message including information for indicating a spreading code for spreading a message of a reverse common channel. A forward common channel transmitter(618) transmits the control message through a forward common channel. Information for indicating the spreading code means that one MS(Mobile Station) dedicatedly communicates with a base station when spreading the message of the reverse common channel. Information for indicating the spreading code is an access channel number.
