Abstract
In the multiplexing unit on the transmitting side, the amount of information from each signal processing unit is estimated, the multiplexing code is determined based on each information amount, the parity of the determined first multiplexing code is taken, and this is designated as the second multiplexing code, Two headers H1 and H2 are created by adding CRCs respectively, and the information data of each media is taken out in accordance with the multiplexing code, and the two headers H1 and H2 are combined and output in a packet. If the error correction of H1 is impossible, the error correction decoding is performed using the header H2. If the error correction of H2 is impossible, the error correction decoding is performed by combining H1 and H2.
