Abstract  Abstract

A method for providing soft handover in a code division multiple access mobile communication system supporting multicast multimedia broadcast service. In an asynchronous mobile communication system supporting an MBMS service, when a UE moves to a region where it can receive data from a plurality of Node Bs, soft handover is performed on the UE. Thus, even though an MBMS user moves from an existing cell to a new cell, a stable MBMS service is provided. Furthermore, the UE can soft-combine data received from a plurality of MBMS DATA SPREADER 1301 PACKET 1307 1309 1311 CHANNEL RATE INTERDATA ENCODER MATCHER SERIAL MBMS TO PACKET PARALLEL RECEIVER FRAME-BASED DELAY TIME If 1303 / F ME DE Y I L 1317 MBMS offset AND CHIP DELAY I tarf 1 va 1 Iv / CALCULATOR I LTOA_ MBMS LTOA_.
