Abstract
The present invention relates to a method for providing soft handover in a code division multiple access mobile communication system supporting a multicast multimedia broadcasting service. The present invention provides a soft handover to a mobile terminal when the mobile terminal moves to an area that can receive data from a plurality of base stations in an asynchronous mobile communication system supporting MBMS. As a result, the present invention can increase the users convenience as the stable MBMS is provided even if the MBMS user moves from the existing cell to the new cell, so that the mobile terminal can soft combine data received from the plurality of base stations. do.
