Abstract
A method for providing smooth handover in a multiple access mobile communication system by code separation that supports multi-point multimedia broadcasting service is described. In an asynchronous mobile communication system that supports an MBMS service, when a UE moves to a region where it can receive data from a plurality of nodes B, the UE is smoothly handed over. Thus, even though an MBMS user moves from an existing cell to a new cell, a stable MBMS service is provided. Furthermore, the UE can gently combine data received from a plurality of nodes B.
