Abstract  Abstract

PURPOSE: To make it possible to transmit a wide band digital signal by setting up the average frame rate of 2nd digital signals to a value approximately equal to the number nS of bits of information of a wide band digital signal part having the sample frequency Fs and providing each frame with a 1st frame part including synchronizing information.
CONSTITUTION: The number of information packets in one frame depends upon a bit rate BR for transmitting a 2nd digital signal through a transmission medium, the number N (N>1) of bits in an information packet, the sample frequency FS of a wide band digital signal and the number nS of samples of information corresponding to a wide band digital signal part. A parameter P is calculated based on the shown equation I. When the P is an integer in the calculation, the number B of information packets in one frame is equal to P, and when the P is not an integer, some frames include P information packets and other frames includes (P+1) information packets. The average frame rate of frames provided with P and (P+1) information packets is equal to FS/nS. Consequently, the system is generalized.
