Abstract  Abstract

The present invention relates to a signal transmission and reception method and a signal transmission and reception apparatus. According to the present invention, a signal transmission method includes generating a second pilot signal including a layer 1 information region to which layer 1 information is allocated, placing the generated second pilot signal in a preamble of a signal frame, and generating the layer 1 information region. Disposing a PLP corresponding to a transport stream in a specific region among the at least one region, modulating the signal frame, and transmitting the modulated signal frame to at least one radio frequency (RF) channel. The signal receiving method may further include receiving a signal from a radio frequency (RF) channel, demodulating the received signal, parsing a signal frame from the demodulated signal, and layer 1 information of a second pilot signal of the signal frame. Obtaining a physical layer pipe (PLP) located in a particular region of the region.
