PURPOSE: A channel switching method for supporting an MBMS(Multimedia Broadcast and Multicast Service) is provided to send the MBMS using channel switching which is performed between a dedicated channel and a shared/common channel. CONSTITUTION: The number of users in a cell is determined to receive an MBMS(20). It is determined whether a dedicated channel or a shared/common channel is to be used for the MBMS by using the determined number of the users(22). MBMS data are received(24). The MBMS data are mapped to the determined dedicated or shared/common channel(24).
