Abstract  Abstract

Disclosed are techniques for improved distribution of content of multicast. In some modalities by example one apparatus includes one circuit of processor one component of communication by the operating of processor circuit for receiving one of transmission that contains one segment of data description and one segment of correspondence one component of the processing of mail by operating the circuit of processor for determining one of the plurality of content streams of multicast which represent different versions of one of media content based in the segment of correspondence and one component of selection by the operating circuit of processor for selecting and receiving one or more of the plurality of streams of content of multicast based in the features identified in the segment of description. In various modalities the apparatus includes one component of adjustment by operating the circuit of processor for change of form adaptable to via of the plurality of streams of content of multicast for reception and processing based in the features identified in the segment of description. Other modalities are described and claimed.

Techniques for improved multicast content delivery are described. In some embodiments for example an apparatus includes a processor circuit a communication component operative by the processor circuit to receive a data transmission containing a description segment and a correspondence segment a correspondence processing component operative by the processor circuit to determine a plurality of multicast content streams representing different versions of a media content based on the correspondence segment and a selection component operative by the processor circuit to select and receive one or more of the plurality of multicast content streams based on characteristics identified in the description segment. In various such embodiments the apparatus includes an adaptation component operative by the processor circuit to adaptively switch across the plurality of multicast content streams for reception and processing based on characteristics identified in the description segment. Other embodiments are described and claimed.
