Abstract  Abstract

Synchronized broadcast transmits the same broadcast content using the same waveform from multiple transmitters. The transmitters each apply the same dispersion code for broadcast transmissions. In a spectrum-dispersed communication system that has a multiplexed time division forward link, a synchronized broadcast transmission is inserted into an emission space. A materialization employs an orthogonal frequency divisional multiplex (OFDM) waveform for synchronized emission. An OFDM receiver is then used to process the synchronized transmission of received broadcast. An alternative materialization implements a pseudo-random noise code (PN) in the broadcast for use by multiple transmitters. An equalizer is then used to estimate the synchronized transmission of the broadcast.
