A method for receiving broadcasts, comprising: receiving, by means of a receiver, a first transmission (100) comprising a plurality of time slots; identifying that the first transmission includes a modulated broadcast portion (178) using a first modulation format and a modulated unicast portion (175) using a second modulation format, in which the first and second modulation formats are different; demodulate (545) the unicast portion; and demodulate (540) the diffusion portion; characterized in that: the broadcast portion (178) and the unicast portion (175) are separate portions of time of the first transmission, each occupying one or more separate time slots of the first transmission; and the broadcast portion (178) is a synchronized broadcast portion, transmitted by a plurality of synchronized transmitters that use the same broadcast waveform.
