Abstract  Abstract

An apparatus for use in a user equipment (200), the apparatus comprising: communication circuits (212) configured to receive, from an access node (104, 106, 300), power increase information including one or more various power increase values relative to a physical downlink control channel, PDCCH, or an enhanced downlink control physical channel, EPDCCH, of a service cell and an interfering cell, wherein said one or more power increase values indicate energy ratios per resource element, EPRE, between a PDCCH or an EPDCCH versus reference signals from the PDCCH or the EPDCCH for the service cell and the interfering cell; and receiver circuits (208, 220) coupled with communication circuits (212), in which the receiver circuits (208) are configured to: determine a quadrature phase shift modulation constellation, QPSK, in which the power of the signal points of the QSPK is based on said one or more power increase values; and jointly decode the PDCCH or EPDCCH of the service cell and the interfering cell using a maximum likelihood decoding algorithm to perform a search on discrete signals of the QPSK constellation for signals from the service cell and signals from the interfering cell .
