Abstract  Abstract

A signal transmission apparatus (1) for transmitting a first and second data stream, including: - a first error correction code (ECC) encoder (743) to encode ECC the first data stream to produce a first ECC encoded data stream, - a second error correction code (ECC) encoder (744) to encode ECC the second data stream to produce a second ECC encoded data stream, wherein said first ECC encoder differs from said second encoder ECC, - a modulator (4) for assigning the first ECC encoded data stream and the second ECC encoded data stream to a respective constellation in a vector space diagram to produce modulated signals where the number of constellation signal points for said first ECC encoded data stream is equal to or less than 4 and differs from the number of constellation signal points for said second ECC encoded data stream, - a T Reverse Fast Fourier Transformer (IFFT; 40) to convert the modulated signals into a converted IFFT signal, and - a transmitter (5) to transmit the converted IFFT signal, wherein said first data stream has data for demodulation including the number of constellation signal points for said second ECC encoded data stream.
