Abstract  Abstract

A method and apparatus for wireless communication is described. The first method is to transmit a first orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) communication signal to a wireless node in a licensed spectrum and a second OFDMA in an unlicensed spectrum simultaneously with the transmission of the first OFDMA communication signal. Transmitting a communication signal to the wireless node. The second method includes receiving a first orthogonal frequency division multiple access (OFDMA) communication signal from a wireless node in a licensed spectrum and receiving a first OFDMA communication signal simultaneously with receiving a first OFDMA communication signal in an unlicensed spectrum. Receiving a communication signal from the wireless node. A third method is to generate a periodic gating interval for the cellular downlink in the unlicensed spectrum and associate at least one boundary of the periodic gating interval with the primary component carrier of the cellular downlink. Synchronizing with at least one boundary of the periodic frame structure to be generated. (Selection) Figure 2A
