Abstract  Abstract

PURPOSE: A power control device of a PTM(Point To Multipoint) physical channel is provided to receive a high speed data service by adaptively controlling the power of a base station through each WTRU(Wireless Transmission or Reception Unit). CONSTITUTION: Each WTRU estimates a reception quality value of a DL(DownLink) dedicated channel, compares the estimated reception quality value with a target reception quality value, and generates a TPC(Transmit Power Control) command through a TPC command generator(22,24). A base station determines a transmission power level of each WTRU according to the TPC command received through a TPC receiver(26). The base station sets the transmission power level for a PTM service as a maximum transmission power level determined for each WTRU(28). (Reference numerals) (A1) Step 20; (A2) Establishing (or maintaining) dedicated channel uplink and downlink about each registration WTRU for a PTM service; (B1) Step 22; (B2) Estimating reception quality value such as SIR in each WTRU through a downlink dedicated channel; (C1) Step 24; (C2) Comparing a reception quality estimated value and a reception quality target value in each WTRU, and generating a TPC command; (D1) Step 26; (D2) Determining a transmission power level for each WTRU using the received TPC command; (E1) Step 28; (E2) Setting the transmission power level for the PTM service as the maximum transmission power level determined for each WTRU;
