Abstract  Abstract

Service data is transferred in the wireless communication system. A first service identification is transmitted for reception by a user group of cells in the system. A user group does not include all of the users in that cell. Each user group receives a service identification. Each of the user groups monitors a second service identification transmitted over the high speed downlink shared channel (HS-DSCH) (see description of elements 26 and 28). Service data is transmitted through the HS-DSCH having the second service identification. Each of the user groups (see the description of element UE j 12 j ) detects a second service identification and receives service data for HS-DSCH.
