Abstract  Abstract

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of processing an AccessGrant block for at least one sector in an active set.

SOLUTION: The method comprises: receiving at an access terminal one or more data packets including an AccessGrant block; placing the AccessGrant block in a public data of an Access Channel MAC protocol on the basis of determining whether a carrier on which the AccessGrant block was received matches an AccessCarrier in the public data of the MAC protocol if a multi-carrier mode is on; adjusting at the access terminal the timing in a physical layer for a sector that transmitted the AccessGrant block; and transmitting at the access terminal an AccessGrantReceived indication for the sector.
