Abstract  Abstract

For mitigating interference for clusters in a wireless wide area network (WWAN) of transmission points that have a common transmission point identity, at frequencies and times such as ICIC (Inter-Cell Interference Coordination) and eICIC (enhanced ICIC) A technique for extending the method based on this will be described. Multiple transmission power messages associated with different transmission point characteristics may be configured among multiple transmission points sharing the same transmission point identity. These multiple transmit power messages may be used to coordinate transmissions from adjacent transmission points at different frequencies. In addition, a new set of reference signals can be constructed to associate different transmission point characteristics. These new associated reference signals are measurements used to provide feedback to one set of transmission points from reference signals transmitted by other sets of transmission points having the same transmission point identity. May be used to separate
